Biblioteek gereorganiseer

John Stephens

Chairman Bob Saunders writes: A small team of our membership banded together in our library in their own time to begin a great work that will be beneficial to the whole membership of our club.

We have a tiny space which houses our library, computers and catering gear, and this team saw a need. A need to reorganise our tiny space and to reconfigure our cupboards in such a way that we can utilise our library a bit better.

Louise Dick, assistant librarian
Much of our literature was in the cupboards - in a fashion, but some of it was also still in boxes.

Making the library more accessible needed thinking out of the box, which is what they did. Our cabinets are now on coasters, so the library is after a fashion - on the move! They will be wheeled out of the tiny room into the much larger lobby for everyone to be able to access. A great innovation.

Iris Stephens
A major clean-up was undertaken by our ladies and I can't wait to see the progress that has been made. Rome was not built in a day, but a start has been made and great strides taken to make our assets more useable.

Penny Evans
We have some way to go yet, but my thanks are extended on behalf of the entire membership, to our librarians Graham Southey and Louise Dick, ably assisted by John and Iris Stephens, Marie van Aswegen and Penny Evans for starting the process of "Operation Library".

This is just the beginning of many little "internal" projects will should flow from it. Lets keep the momentum up folks. We need more ideas and volunteers to execute these projects. The committee can do some of it, but we all need to be involved. I am so proud of you guys!
